My earliest musical memory goes back to my early childhood: Prokofiev's Peter and the Wolf, which my brother and I listened to every night to fall asleep. Years later, I realized that beyond the strong emotions it can convey, the musical tale is a wonderful first introduction to classical music. So when the opportunity was given to me by the Agen Conservatory to compose one for the first time, I thought it would be a great occasion to pay tribute to the stories that nurtured me and to my instrument of vocation: L'Instrument oublié tells the story of a viola abandoned in an attic that embarks on a wild adventure to find its voice, the stage, and perhaps even its long-lost owner.
