Moonlight Songs is a cycle of ten short duos, conceived as a journey through the looking-glass, into the heart of an enchanted nocturnal forest.
Written as unreal and mesmerizing lullabies, these pieces explore those tipping points when sleep overcomes the senses: the surrender to the night, guided by the moon's reflections beneath the canopy, in the whisper of the wind and the bewitchment of shadows, as one dives into the strangest journey inside our subconscious.
Between suspended melodies, obscure incantations, vaporous breaths, and fairy-like echoes, these duos create an hypnotic dialogue between alto flute and harp. The deep, veiled, and almost carnal timbre of the alto flute wraps around the harp, the emblematic instrument of dreams and mystery for centuries, turning the night into a universal sanctuary where one comes to soothe one's soul.
