TAVERN SONGS

Tavern Songs is a cycle of ten short and festive pieces, conceived as a night at the heart of a sailors' tavern.

Written to be played, sung, and danced, these pieces celebrate those fleeting brotherhoods born at the counter: forging absolute friendship for a single night, in the fervor of wine and the warmth of violins, before setting sail again at dawn.

Between frenetic rhythms, joyful bawdiness, outbursts of brawls, and melancholic songs, these duos engage violin and viola in raw freedom, transforming the tavern into a universal sanctuary where people come to quench their thirst, dispel their fears, and celebrate life, right before setting off back into the unknown.
